Paul retires as Finance Director

On September 16th, 2016

After two  years as Finance Director of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders, I have relinquished my role.

It has been an enjoyable time with many trips backwards and forwards to our admin office in Putney, getting to know the team and lots of time back home spent on online forums.  I will miss the camaraderie with my fellow directors and staff.

It has been a fun five years!  It has taken time to build up a client base through networking and advertising but I have made many contacts and friendships over this period which has led to all kinds of different proofreading assignments.  Long may it continue.

Paul becomes SfEP Finance Director

On September 27th, 2014

sfep - Society for Editors and ProofreadersAt the Annual General Meeting of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders at the beginning of September, I was delighted to be elected as the new Finance Director.  I am really looking forward to being more involved with the Society.  I have already visited the office in Putney, it seems I am one of the most local Directors to the office – my co-Directors come from all around the UK.

In May 2014 I was interviewed for the second time on Sarah’s Banham’s weekly radio show, ‘Writer’s Block’, Saint FM 94.7 based in Maldon, Essex to talk about proofreading. Sarah is a writer and publisher and has written seven books, including novels and anthologies. She also runs workshops for budding writers. www.loveofbooks.co.uk

Malcolm comments: Paul proofread my poetry book prior to publishing and he did a great job. He had a friendly and relaxed approach when dealing with my work and was thoroughly professional and proactive during the process, taking into account the complexities of proofreading for grammar especially where poetry is concerned.
